The internal shaft has been re-explored - by Richard H and David B!  

 

Key for wire mesh lid on shaft is required. This is available in the mine, contact either of the above for location!!!

 

Total depth is around 70ft - first part goes through worked out areas with deads in veins on either side; second is a cut shaft (shot holes in evidence). Bottom comprises loose fill with tools (circa Amner period!) still present. Air quality good - previously tested with a safety lamp.

 

Hangers left in situ.

 

Gear required - total of 82ft rope roughly - suggest 90ft for safety. Y hang from stowes frame, two slings and krabs.  Deviation short way down, hanger in, but requires sling and krabs to fit. About half way down - rehang with good stance, single krab. Descend to bottom!

 

Dry apart from last section - which is damp only.

 

Worth a look - and a dig.
